- Pressure to move off-platform fast. Asking for WhatsApp, Telegram, or your phone number in the first few messages is the strongest predictor of a scam attempt.
- Money requests, even tiny ones. Crisis stories ('my mom is in the hospital'), business loans, gift cards, crypto — any first ask is a structural red flag.
- Profile inconsistencies. Photos that don't match across accounts, claimed location vs IP/device evidence, names that change between sign-up and chat.

We won't pretend our systems are perfect

How does Vaida verify identities?
Our verification combines a photo selfie matched against your profile photos, basic device and IP reputation checks, and behavioral signals during signup. Heavily verified profiles get a visible badge that other users can trust.
Does the AI read my messages?
Our scam-detection models scan messages for known scam patterns automatically — like our spam filter does for email. No human at Vaida reads conversations in the normal course of operations. Reports you submit may be reviewed by a human moderator.
What happens when an account is flagged?
Depending on the signal strength, we may add friction (extra verification), restrict messaging, or remove the account outright. High-confidence scam accounts are removed without warning. You're notified if a match you've been chatting with is removed for safety reasons.
What if I get scammed despite all this?
Report it to Vaida immediately so the account is removed and we can warn others. Then report to local law enforcement and, in the US, to the FTC at reportfraud.ftc.gov. International romance scams are also tracked by IC3.gov and the equivalent in your country. Recovery is rare but reporting helps shut the operation down.
Can I see who reported my match if they got removed?
No. Reports are confidential. We tell you the account was removed for safety reasons but never reveal who reported it.
Are paid members better protected?
All members get the same scam protection. Paid plans add features like advanced filters and unlimited messages, but every conversation runs through the same safety systems regardless of plan.
Is Vaida legit?
